Some of the benefits of cloud computing have been highlighted by an industry expert, who noted that the biggest positive is that business do not have to set the system up themselves.

Stuart Hibbert, chief executive of icomplete.com – a service that brings big business resources to smaller enterprises that may not have been able to do so because of price or experience restrictions – explained that firms do not even have to own their own servers…

‘You don’t have to back things up, it’s going to be available to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week,’ he remarked, adding that a small price is paid out for ‘great functionality’.

Mr Hibbert went on to state that cloud computing can also help enhance productivity and promote flexible working practices, allowing managers to track what is going on and employees to work from home.

This follows a ComputerworldUK.com report that police in the UK are contemplating moving to the cloud and moving away from onsite IT.
