Fujitsu Malaysia, HeiTech Management Services (HMS) and NetApp Malaysia  have entered a strategic alliance to jointly bring cloud services to Malaysia.

According to a report in Business Times, under the terms of the agreement, the three companies will provide an integrated and automated storage system and data management solutions to Malaysian companies.

Fujitsu will serve as systems integrator for HeiTech and NetApp’s information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure software for both public and private sector clients…

NetApp Malaysia & Brunei country manager Andy Khoo said he hopes the collaboration will encourage more Malaysian companies to store their data online.

"As IT departments look for ways to be more cost and operationally efficient, customer buying patterns are shifting toward vendors with more comprehensive and collaborative approach to addressing their data center needs,” Khoo said.

“Our strategic alliance with HMS and Fujitsu will enable more companies to achieve the information technology (IT) efficiency benefits delivered by NetApp."

The alliance represents a unique three-way partnership between a US, Japanese and Malaysian company operating in the Malaysian market, the stakeholders said.

The participants said they plan for the alliance to become a platform to educate the Malaysian market in the uses and benefits of cloud computing services, still in its infancy in Malaysia.
