Threat Stack, the leader in cloud infrastructure security, today announced streamlined deployment of the Threat Stack Cloud Security Platform designed to provide organizations with the ability to automate the deployment of Threat Stack’s agent as a separate container. With a new containerized version of its Cloud Security Platform agent, Threat Stack customers will be able to maintain security visibility as they continue to scale their container infrastructure without slowing down DevOps processes.

T2 instances launched four years ago and have become the most popular instances for a wide range of workloads due to their low cost and unlimited burst capabilities. T2 instances are unlike any other burstable instance available in the cloud today in that customers can sustain high CPU performance for any period of time, whenever and however long required, and avoid application degradation if the instance exceeds its available CPU credits. This behavior has to be activated by customers for T2 instances, and because it isn’t the default behavior, customers sometimes didn’t realize that this important performance benefit was available to them. Based on customer feedback, T3 instances have this valuable unlimited burst capability enabled by default, so customers need not take any special action to enjoy this benefit.

Maxta today introduced a Hyperconverged "(Un)Appliance" for Red Hat Virtualization, a pre-configured system of Red Hat Virtualization software and Maxta Hyperconvergence software bundled together on Intel Data Center Blocks hardware. This joint solution provides all the advantages of appliance-based hyperconvergence without any of the disadvantages – there’s no refresh tax, no upgrade tax, no VMware tax, and no proprietary virtualization.

Hyperconverged (Un)Appliances collapse servers, storage, and networking into a single server tier that is used to run virtual machines and containers. Storage is configured automatically when VMs or containers are created allowing administrators to focus on managing applications rather than storage. The combination of Intel Data Center Blocks, Red Hat Virtualization and Maxta Hyperconvergence Software provides the operational and capital expense reductions desired by organizations, but in a way that is less expensive to procure, refresh and expand when compared to appliance-based hyperconvergence.
