TetherView, a leading provider of private cloud infrastructure and services, today announced the immediate availability of its Standby Virtual Desktop service. The Desktop as a Service (DaaS) platform provides virtual desktop workspaces and applications to businesses of all sizes, fully accessible from any device, anywhere.

With TetherView Standby Virtual Desktops, organizations can now benefit from having desktops in a secure, high availability data center remain accessible in the unlikely event of an outage, disaster or localized hardware failures. As part of the service, TetherView builds and configures a private cloud environment that can be activated immediately and be ready for use on demand – allowing organizations to maintain seamless "business as usual" operations.

"Our Standby Virtual Desktops offer an IT insurance policy to mitigate the risk of business disruptions," says Michael Abboud, CEO of TetherView. "Many either don’t have a business continuity plan in place, or have little faith in the one that is in place. From winter storms to cyberthreats related to malware and ransomware, we offer a simple and affordable solution to ensure uptime when these untimely events occur."

Virtual desktops and applications delivered via TetherView’s private cloud for business, look and act as part of each customer’s corporate IT environment, though they are running from ultra-secure data centers accessible via a PCoIP application or standard web browsers. All the infrastructure, including the servers, software, network, and storage, is maintained by TetherView, eliminating the need to purchase and maintain redundant systems.

"Partnering with TetherView and deploying its intuitive Standby Virtual Desktop business continuity solution to our customers has successfully prevented network downtime for many," states Kevin Brown, CEO of HITORRA Technologies, a consultant, contracting, and technology services solution provider.

Standby Virtual Desktops are offered through TetherView’s network of reseller partners at a low monthly subscription.
