Teradici, the creator of industry-leading PCoIP technology and Emmy Award-winning Cloud Access Software (CAS), announced general availability of Teradici CAS with support for the Mac. For the first time, users can remotely access their Mac as if they were on a local machine, with the resolution and color fidelity they need to maintain the highest quality standards.

Media and creative professionals, as well as application and game developers, continue to work in remote and hybrid office settings, making seamless, secure remote access to applications more critical than ever. With Teradici CAS, Mac users can now access their high-performance workflows-including VFX, animation, structural design, video editing and other high-performance creator and design workflows-from anywhere. Using the Teradici PCoIP remote display protocol to transfer only pixels, corporate assets remain securely located in industry-compliant, on-site content networks.

“Teradici CAS users have even more flexibility to re-imagine their workflows post-pandemic and can now securely remote into their high-powered Mac wherever they may be, including from their home office,” said David Smith, CEO at Teradici. “Working with Apple, Teradici has delivered an essential solution for power users and knowledge workers who rely on secure, high-performance remote access to their Mac. Enterprises can easily deploy Teradici CAS within their existing infrastructure, and users will love the color accuracy, incredible responsiveness, audio-video sync, multi-monitor support, and many other features that enable the Mac experience from anywhere.”

“Many of our editors prefer using Mac, and Teradici is the first solution to provide high-performance remote desktop workflows for the Mac,” said Darin Grant, CTO of Animal Logic. “We have been early testers of the macOS CAS agent and have been impressed by the rate of development and response to our bug reports and feature requests.”

“Support for macOS in Teradici CAS provides artists and producers with extraordinary flexibility to choose how they work, including on macOS,” said Raymond Thompson, Sr. Director Partner and Industry Marketing, Avid. “A significant number of Avid Media Composer users prefer a Mac, and now with Teradici CAS macOS support, content creators can have the high-quality remote experience they need to work from anywhere using any OS they prefer.”

“Our clients in the Media & Entertainment industry have been anticipating high-performance remote macOS support, and Teradici CAS delivers the same experience they expect on their on-prem workstations,” said Erik Beauchamp, Media Technologist at Remote Picture Labs. “Our impressions were incredibly positive. Test edit sessions with the latest version of Media Composer on macOS Catalina using Teradici’s Zero Client hardware went very smoothly, and their software did a great job of managing responsive full-screen video playback in our typical three-monitor setup. We’re excited to have the ability to add macOS support to the RPL environment using Teradici CAS.”

Teradici CAS supports knowledge worker and power user use cases for Mac running either macOS Catalina or macOS Big Sur in on-premises data center and cloud environments. All existing PCoIP endpoints with macOS clients, Windows clients, Linux clients, PCoIP Zero Clients and PCoIP-enabled thin clients can connect to a macOS host, giving IT administrators complete control of their infrastructure to choose any data center, endpoint, OS, and application combination.
