An increasing number of business users are employing iPads to view content from software-as-a-service products.

This is according to Windows IT Pro commentator Jeff James, who explained while the majority of the tablet PCs have been sold to consumers, companies are increasingly seeing the potential of the Apple devices.

He said both software-as-a-service and cloud computing applications can be accessed from the iPad, making it an important product for many employees.

Mr James pointed to recent research from Good Technology that showed companies operating in the financial services sector are the heaviest users of iPads so far, making up 38 per cent of the businesses it questioned.

It was followed by the technology and healthcare industries, on 11 and ten per cent respectively.

According to Apple, the iPad has been designed to work well for corporate users, with its tools allowing staff members to collaborate with their colleagues, deliver presentations and create business information.
