SevOne Patent Award Defines Uniquely Scalable Approach to Performance Management
January 15, 2014
SevOne, the leader in providing scalable performance monitoring solutions to the world’s most connected companies, today announced it has been awarded a patent for the technology underlying the SevOne Cluster™ Architecture. The patent outlines SevOne’s uniquely scalable approach to data collection and reporting, and gives SevOne the intellectual property rights to technology providing unparalleled visibility into network and data center performance.
Relying on both physical and virtual appliances, the SevOne Cluster Architecture is the first system to fully distribute both data collection and reporting functions. Each new appliance added to the Cluster is capable of monitoring and reporting back on any portion of the associated infrastructure. In a SevOne Cluster, when one appliance is queried, the distributed processing power of the entire performance management system is used to monitor and report on relevant activity. As a company’s infrastructure grows, managers can continue to expand monitoring capabilities by adding on new appliances with no loss of speed in reporting. Reports are generated in seconds regardless of the size of the monitored domain.
SevOne customers include many of the world’s largest financial institutions, cable and telecom operators, managed service providers, and pharmaceutical companies. Demonstrating the scalability of the Cluster Architecture, several customers including Comcast and others each currently poll more than four million individual objects while storing and reporting against 12 months of raw performance data.
The United States Patent and Trademark Office issued its notice of allowance to SevOne on December 23, 2013 with regard to Patent Application No.: 12/260,757.
