RISC Networks and Velostrata announce joint integration to deliver the best-in-class cloud migration solution. Successful cloud migrations almost always require a collaborative effort. Cloud migration occurs through several different, but crucial, phases, and require an end-to-end solution which leverages the right software and partners from beginning to end.

RISC Networks ITOA Platform is implemented for the first and final phases of the migration process: discovery and migration planning to start, and migration validation after the move. You can’t successfully move applications and related databases without gaining a complete picture of how everything is interconnected. The RISC Networks Platform allows you to discover all in-scope devices, automatically create application stacks and quickly see the level of effort (rscore) required to move a stack. Additionally, IT professionals can rationalize their applications, evaluate cost and resource estimates, and create a cloud migration plan within the platform. At this point, users (automatically) convert the Asset Report from the RISC Networks Portal into a Velostrata automation runbook. Through the implementation of the Velostrata runbook, users can automatically migrate their on-premises workloads and applications into the cloud based on the sequence and instance types (among other customer desired variables) defined in their runbook.

"Our IT Operations Analytics (ITOA) Platform greatly accelerates a company’s migration by helping them identify the best opportunities for cloud savings by visualizing their entire application and workload stack. That allows them to intelligently rationalize their migration portfolio and help save a great deal of time and effort prior to the move," said Jeremy Littlejohn, CEO of RISC Networks. "We export your move plan into the Velostrata platform, automating the migration of selected application stacks in the correct sequence. This is especially crucial for mission critical deployments like SAP® or Citrix®. The seamless connection between the discovery and execution phases can help ensure a successful migration experience."

The partner-driven approach taken by RISC Networks and Velostrata has added-value even after a migration is complete. Many organizations choose to add and optimize applications across additional cloud vendors, and by leveraging this method, organizations can continue to use the resources and practices that were built during the initial migration, creating a cost-effective, repeatable process that scales across their entire application landscape.

"Our partnership has now materialized in a joint bundle option for customers, greatly reducing customer friction in the cloud adoption journey. While RISC provides greater visibility and insights into the best opportunities for cloud migration, Velostrata dramatically increases the speed of migration over conventional approaches, and de-risks enterprises by allowing them to pre-validate their application performance ahead of the migration, regardless of the stringency of the SLA or size of their datasets. This combination of migration efficiencies and service assurance really wins organizational buy-in and allows us to address a broad set of use cases, whether it is a customer moving to their first cloud or those optimizing across multiple clouds," said Issy Ben-Shaul, CEO of Velostrata.
