ProfitBricks, the cloud computing Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider that has completely reengineered the delivery of cloud computing, announced today a partnership with MassChallenge, the largest-ever startup-accelerator, and the first to support high-impact, early-stage entrepreneurs with no strings attached. ProfitBricks partnered with MassChallenge to support its mission of helping entrepreneurs win by providing state-of-the-art cloud computing solutions.

MassChallenge companies have raised more than $260 million in funding and created 2,150 jobs in the last three years. ProfitBricks, in partnership with MassChallenge, will enable each company to receive new, second generation cloud services including virtual servers with almost double the performance of existing cloud providers, flexible minute-by-minute pricing that facilitates real-time scaling of compute resources, and dramatically more simple cloud deployment and management through a completely new Graphical User Interface, known as the Data Center Designer…

ProfitBricks was launched by the founders of 1&1, the largest Internet hosting company in the world. Achim Weiss and Andreas Gauger created the company to fix what is broken with existing cloud infrastructure as a service offerings, specifically their reliance on legacy technologies and architectures which limit performance and network flexibility.

“We continue to provide our entrepreneurs with the best possible means for growing efficiently and effectively,” said Scott Bailey, MassChallenge Director of Partnerships. “We are happy to be working with ProfitBricks to provide a strong cloud computing solution, guaranteeing the success of our high growth, high impact startups.”

ProfitBricks’ cloud architecture more than doubles cloud server and network performance, offers up to 80 Gbit of network speed while offering fully transparent by-the-minute pricing. Another industry first is the ability to scale vertically (without restarting the server) and horizontally with user-defined virtual servers (up to 48 cores and 196 GB of RAM).

“We’re inspired by high growth organizations here at ProfitBricks. Companies like those at MassChallenge are the reason we wanted to fundamentally change the underpinnings of cloud services,” said Robert Rizika, CEO, ProfitBricks, U.S. “Today’s cloud was built by companies that wanted to sell excess compute and storage capacity, and that works well to a point. But our cloud architecture and products have been designed from the ground up as a cloud service, we found incredible advantage in that, now and well into the future.”
