Kubermatic announced the latest release of the Kubermatic Kubernetes Platform (KKP). Kubermatic Kubernetes Platform 2.18 introduces advanced features to help customers centrally manage their Kubernetes cluster operations across complex hybrid-cloud, multi-cloud and edge environments without compromising flexibility. In addition, Kubermatic introduced KubeOne 1.3 for fully automated and infrastructure-agnostic Kubernetes cluster lifecycle management.
“As Kubernetes installations grow in size and complexity, automation is vital for successful enterprise cloud native adoption. At the same time, customers want and need to keep the freedom to exploit the best solutions from anywhere,” says Sebastian Scheele, CEO at Kubermatic. “Every day, vendors and open-source communities launch better products that you need to integrate effortlessly into your organization. In a hyper-connected world, you need to stay ahead and maximize the opportunities of your infrastructure for your business. That’s why we build the world’s most adaptable and autonomous solutions, so businesses can focus their time on writing applications that rival the likes of Amazon and Google.”
Important customer benefits introduced by Kubermatic Kubernetes Platform 2.18 include:
- Edge-ready Monitoring, Logging and Alerting: To help users setting up and configuring Monitoring, Logging and Alerting in highly sophisticated scenarios, KKP 2.18 offers a full integration with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and Cortex open-source tooling.
- Fortified and simplified governance and control: Includes cluster templates, metering integration, enhanced Open Policy Agent capabilities, and Automatic Backups, all centrally managed from the KKP UI
- Cloud cost optimization: Kubermatic Kubernetes Platform 2.18 introduces advanced AWS Spot Instances support. With this new feature, customers can configure their Spot Instances as well as the amount they are willing to pay, for cloud cost savings of up to 70%.
