Joyent, the global provider of cloud computing software and services, and NavLink, a provider and enabler of managed Information Communication Technology (ICT), enterprise networking and cloud services in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), today announced a two-pronged partnership: NavLink will deliver cloud services based on SmartDataCenter directly to its enterprise customers in the EMEA region from its data center in Nice, France, and the company will license Joyent’s cloud infrastructure platform to telecom operators and service providers in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to enable them to offer cloud services to their customers…

Joyent’s SmartDataCenter delivers a high margin cloud infrastructure platform for service providers wishing to run public, private or hybrid clouds, grow value-added service offerings such as M2M and mobile application services, and converge internal service provider IT and data operations.

SmartDataCenter delivers the following benefits:

        —  The best visibility into one’s cloud infrastructure: Powerful cloud
analytics afford service providers complete transparency into sources
of latency and root cause throughout the compute stack from kernel to
            application.
        —  Safe storage, resilient data, and speed. Lightning-fast software boots
quickly and provides fully distributed storage, superior application
and processing speeds, data fidelity and security not available to
            operating systems on other clouds.
        —  Lower compute costs. Independent benchmarks have demonstrated that the
operating system in SmartDataCenter, SmartOS, uses fewer servers and
lowers compute costs by delivering up to 14x faster speeds than
            competitive cloud providers.

NavLink has a long track record of bringing numerous benefits to telecom operators and end users through a one-stop-shop that includes hosting, cloud and managed services as well as architecture, deployment, and operational services.

"We chose SmartDataCenter because of its clear differentiation from competing cloud software providers," said Laurent Delifer, President and CEO of NavLink. "In addition to its technological advantages, Joyent has operated a profitable public cloud business for years. This partnership enables us to leverage their best practices to ensure rapid time to market."

"NavLink brings years of experience and expertise providing managed services to their telecom and enterprise customers," said Philippe Weppe, President of EMEA for Joyent. "We look forward to working with them to deliver the next generation cloud infrastructure platform to the Middle East."
