HP Picks up Database, Cloud Automation Vendor Stratavia

Even while it’s still jockeying with Dell to buy storage vendor 3PAR, Hewlett-Packard has picked up database and data center automation company Stratavia, according to TechCrunch. Financial details were not disclosed.

 

TechCrunch says of Stratavia’s technology:

The software is designed to control application deployment and  management in hybrid IT environments as well as simplify the deployment  of applications in the cloud.

The ability to manage a mixture of on-premise, off-premise, physical and cloud-based environments, is growing tougher and more important, as IT Business Edge’s Arthur Cole has been discussing lately.
