HP Picks up Database, Cloud Automation Vendor StrataviaAugust 27, 2010
Even while it’s still jockeying with Dell to buy storage vendor 3PAR, Hewlett-Packard has picked up database and data center automation company Stratavia, according to TechCrunch. Financial details were not disclosed.
TechCrunch says of Stratavia’s technology:
The software is designed to control application deployment and management in hybrid IT environments as well as simplify the deployment of applications in the cloud.
The ability to manage a mixture of on-premise, off-premise, physical and cloud-based environments, is growing tougher and more important, as IT Business Edge’s Arthur Cole has been discussing lately.
