Cloud computing has been around for years now, and the technology’s growth has been driven largely by the Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) sectors.
As of now, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) adoption has lagged behind the other two. There are a few reasons for this, most notably that it simply hasn’t been around for as long as IaaS and SaaS tools. But another reason for PaaS models’ late start is that decision-makers have been waiting for the technology to mature. "Our goal was to build an API that created a digital supply chain for any company to use and PaaS was perfect for that," Rewards Network CIO Mario Cruz told the news source. "We had decided early on that if a service wasn’t core to our business, we’d rather have someone else manage it, and with PaaS we knew it was going to be more secure, faster and usually cheaper, three things we wouldn’t get internally."…
