energyOrbit, the leading cloud computing ( www.energy-orbit.com ) company in the Demand Side Management sector, today announced the successful implementation and roll out of energyOrbit at Dairyland Power Cooperative, a Midwest generation and transmission cooperative (G&T) providing wholesale power to 25 member cooperatives and 16 municipal utilities in four states…

With energyOrbit in place, Dairyland is poised to maximize energy savings and potentially offset the need for building more power generation capacity. With a robust and user-friendly reporting engine, staff members and distribution co-op member-utilities are empowered to conveniently generate reports while adhering to each state’s reporting requirements.

Dairyland’s traditional method for managing its energy efficiency programs was the use of a variety of paper forms, spreadsheets and multiple databases to track various costs savings and other data points. The installation and deployment of energyOrbit was timely for Dairyland’s residential and commercial energy efficiency 2011 & 2013 program rollouts. Dairyland members are now able to enter energy efficiency program information into one centralized data repository, managers and staff at Dairyland have complete visibility into the performance of their member co-ops’ energy efficiency programs. All the while, member co-ops maintain autonomy for managing incentive payments levels to their constituents. As the funder of these energy efficiency programs, Dairyland is able to conveniently verify savings levels and quickly issue payments to its co-op members.

"The new energyOrbit system delivers power and flexibility for working effectively with our co-op members," said Jeff Springer, Manager, Energy Efficiency and Technical Services. "Our co-op members have been enthusiastic about this new online tool and adoption of the new energyOrbit system has been virtually pain-free." Springer adds, "The energyOrbit team has proven to be a responsive and committed partner."

With energyOrbit Dairyland is now able to:

— Efficiently communicate with co-op members "down stream," yet maintain data segregation and data privacy amongst co-op utility members

— Support rapid setup, deployment and modification of programs and conservation measures by business users

— Streamline and automate project business processes and communications for the full project lifecycle — from initial outreach through payment and verification

— Extend current workflows and the configuration of validation rules for tracking complex processes

— Calculate savings and incentives for a wide variety of prescriptive and custom measures

— Enable users to quickly and easily generate high-impact reports and dashboards

— Provide secure, customized on-line access for different user roles, profiles, and hierarchies
