Akamai Technologies, Inc., is well reputed for providing services that improve the delivery of content and applications. Toward this end, it acquired Israel’s Contendo for $268M. Contendo, which extensively uses cloud technology…

This coupled with Contendo’s recent partnership with Akamai to provide enterprises faster Internet access and cloud-based apps will serve to complement Akamai’s technology.

Paul Sagan, president and CEO of Akamai believed that the combined technologies of Contendo and Akamai would help enterprises migrate to the cloud and help them to find solutions in an ‘increasingly mobile world.’

As for Level 3 Communications (News Alert), its advanced IP network, high speed Internet protocol services and dedicated Internet access will play an important part in the Central Valley Next Generation Broadband Infrastructure project that cost $66.6 million.
