Cedexis, a cloud computing company with offices in France and Southeast Portland, has raised $6 million in venture backing.

The Series A money comes from Seattle investment firm Madrona Venture Group and from a Palo Alto firm, Advanced Technology Ventures…

Chief executive Marty Kagan, formerly vice president of engineering at Jive Software, started Cedexis in 2009. The company helps clients monitor and optimize online applications stored in the Internet cloud.

Cedexis says it has 130 customers, including several large consumer brands — Izod, Dior, Le Monde and Volkswagen, among others.
