Cloud Computing Migration Showcased at Citrix Synergy
May 8, 2012
Racemi, provider of technology that accelerates migrations to cloud computing, today announced it will be providing live demonstrations to showcase its SaaS (software as a service) migration service Cloud Path at the upcoming Citrix Synergy event. Migrating existing servers to the cloud is point-and-click easy, and free for a limited time.
Citrix Synergy takes place in San Francisco from May 9-11 and is expected to attract 4,000 attendees. Racemi’s booth will be in the CloudStack Community Pavilion where attendees can sign up for free online migrations.
The company will demonstrate how to quickly onboard existing applications to cloud computing providers, like Amazon EC2, Rackspace, Terremark, and GoGrid without the need to rebuild servers from scratch…
"We offer the fastest, most cost-effective path to get into cloud computing," said James Strayer, vice president of product management, Racemi. "We are excited to be working with Citrix to help accelerate the adoption of Citrix Xen Server and the CloudStack platform."
Racemi’s image-based provisioning software automates the migration of servers between dissimilar physical, virtual, and cloud platforms –and unlike other technologies, does not require modifications to the application workload.
Workloads are migrated to the cloud by comparing the configurations of the source and destination servers, and configuring the necessary cloud tools, virtual machine components, disk, and network layout "in-flight" to ensure that the image can be run on the target cloud platform.
