HP is launching an automation and cloud management service – Orchestrated Datacenter – to allow the IT to deploy the full stack and automate IT delivery and management. IT workers can deploy physical, virtual servers, networks, storage and databases to the middleware and the application layer using HP’s Orchestrated Datacenter service suite.

HP’s aims the portfolio of services at helping businesses optimise the operations in the datacentre to meet their infrastructure and application delivery requirements, said the company. Proofpoint, Inc. (PFPT) has agreed to acquire Mountain View, Calif.-based NetCitadel for the purpose of expanding its advanced threat solutions portfolio.  The cloud-based security-as-a-service solutions provider announced the $24 million cash deal on Tuesday, noting that the acquisition will assist enterprises with preventing data breaches and data loss.

Proofpoint said the combination of disparate threat intelligence data with automated incident response will enable security professionals to respond to threats faster.  "NetCitadel’s incident response platform has been fulfilling a critical need for our customer base by slashing incident response times and cost," said NetCitadel co-founder and former CEO Mike Horn, who is now vice president of threat and response products at Proofpoint…

It’s a lot easier to move your infrastructure into the cloud than have to migrate everything back into a private data center. The idea is to make sure you deploy the right workloads and have the correct deployment methodology throughout the entire process. When cloud computing started getting popular, organizations began pushing more of their environments into a public or hybrid cloud model.
