Alert Logic today announced at AWS re:Invent 2018 in Las Vegas that the Alert Logic threat management offering has achieved Amazon Web Services (AWS) Container Competency status. Alert Logic Network Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and log management for containers allows for real-time detection of known and unknown exploits that target applications running in containers on Docker, Kubernetes, Elastic Beanstalk, Docker Swarm, CoreOS, Azure Kubernetes Service, Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS), and Amazon Elastic Container Service for Kubernetes (Amazon EKS), across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.

AWS is enabling scalable, flexible, and cost-effective solutions from startups to global enterprises. To support the seamless integration and deployment of these solutions, AWS established the AWS Competency Program to help customers identify Consulting and Technology APN Partners with deep industry experience and expertise. The AWS Container competency designation recognizes Alert Logic’s technical strength and demonstrated success helping companies leverage containers and container-based solutions to build, test, release and scale at any size.

VMware, Inc. previewed two new offerings-VMware Cloud on AWS Outposts and VMware Cloud Foundation for Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) that will run on AWS Outposts, enabling customers to build and deploy in customer data centers in an "as a service" model with rich, enterprise-class capabilities. Both solutions will leverage AWS Outposts, new fully managed and configurable compute and storage racks built with Amazon Web Services (AWS) hardware that allow customers to run compute and storage on-premises, while seamlessly connecting to the rest of AWS’s broad array of services in the cloud. Together these offerings will enable customers with a consistent infrastructure and operational experience across all VMware and AWS cloud environments.

CloudCheckr, the comprehensive cloud management platform for cloud cost optimization, security, and compliance, revealed a new way for modern enterprises, service providers, and public sector organizations, to peer back in time. Announced at the annual AWS re:Invent conference, CloudCheckr SnapBack provides a snapshot-in-time view of an entire cloud infrastructure, utilizing up to seven years of customer data.

Available now in the CloudCheckr platform, SnapBack technology changes a customer’s view of their cloud infrastructure to a specific point in time in the past. In particular, this historical view of cost, security, and compliance allow large enterprises and service providers to view comparisons over a long period of time, access a visual audit trail of changes to their infrastructure, and assess their security stance. Data presented through SnapBack is frozen-in-time and not editable by any user or administrator.

Nutanix, Inc., a leader in enterprise cloud computing, today announced the general availability of Xi Cloud Services, a new suite of offerings designed to create a more unified fabric across different cloud environments, that gives IT teams the freedom to run their applications on the optimal platform, not restricted by technology limitations. Xi Cloud Services is comprised of five distinct offerings at launch, including Xi Leap, a native extension of the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform providing disaster recovery as a service.

A seamless hybrid cloud that allows IT to make strategic workload placement decisions is the goal of many businesses. In fact, according to Gartner, "a multicloud strategy can help a customer gain access to a broader range of capabilities, especially bleeding-edge innovative capabilities." But identifying the best of public and private cloud deployments and knitting them together for a seamless experience is hard, and too often results in siloes of infrastructure spread out across various on-prem and public cloud deployments. Datadog today announced new developments in its container-monitoring availability on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Specifically, Datadog’s container-monitoring capabilities are now available on the new AWS Marketplace for Containers, and Datadog has also achieved AWS Container Competency status.

The achievement of AWS Container Competency status recognizes that Datadog offers a technology product or solution which integrates with AWS services in a way that improves the AWS customer’s ability to run workloads on containers. Datadog is excited to be an AWS Partner Network (APN) Partner for the launch of the new AWS Marketplace for Containers, and to help even more AWS customers gain visibility across highly dynamic containerized deployments of all sizes.

Blockchain Technology Partners today announced the general availability of Sextant, its powerful blockchain management platform, on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace for Containers. It accelerates innovation by providing enterprises with a platform that they can build upon; ensuring that they focus on business application development, not blockchain infrastructure.

Today at AWS re:Invent, Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) announced AWS Ground Station, a new service that makes it easy and cost-effective for customers to download data from satellites into AWS Global Infrastructure Regions using a fully managed network of 12 ground station antennas located around the world. Once customers receive satellite data at a ground station, they can immediately process it in an Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instance, store it in Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), apply AWS analytics and machine learning services to gain insights, and use Amazon’s network to move the data to other regions and processing facilities. Getting started with AWS Ground Station takes just a few clicks in the AWS Management Console to schedule antenna access time and launch an Amazon EC2 instance to communicate with the satellite. There are no up-front payments or long-term commitments, no ground infrastructure to build or manage, and customers pay-by-the-minute for antenna access time used. Satellites are being used by more and more businesses, universities, and governments for a variety of applications, including weather forecasting, surface imaging, and communications. To do this today, customers must build or lease ground antennas to communicate with the satellites. This is a significant undertaking and cost because customers often require antennas in multiple countries to download data when and where they need it without waiting for the satellite to pass over a desired location. And the antennas are just the beginning of the infrastructure requirements because customers need servers, storage, and networking in close proximity to the antenna to process, store, and transport the data from the satellite. And then customers must build business rules and workflows to organize, structure, and route the data to employees or customers before it can be used to deliver insight. All of this requires significant capital investments and operational costs to build, manage, and maintain antennas, compute infrastructure, and business logic at each antenna location.

Sysdig, Inc., a cloud-native intelligence company, today announced that Sysdig Secure and Sysdig Monitor are a part of the newly launched AWS Marketplace for Containers, which was just announced by Amazon Web Services, Inc. at AWS re:Invent 2018. Sysdig is also one of the first companies to achieve AWS Container Competency status, and for enterprise customers, Sysdig is now a member of the Enterprise Contract for AWS Marketplace Program.

Zerto, an industry leader for IT resilience, is giving HPE Discover 2018 attendees the first look at Zerto 7 IT Resilience Platform this week. The preview will show the GUI of its flagship software product – to be released in 2019 – and how it will integrate with HPE storage solutions as part of the HPE Complete Zerto Solution as well as growing plans for future product integration.
