SwiftStack, the leader in multi-cloud data storage and management, today announced full support for the new Veeam Cloud Tier, unveiled today at Velocity 2019, Veeam’s annual sales kickoff event. Ransomware attacks have become increasingly complex, targeted, and financially devastating for organizations around the world. Global losses from ransomware attacks are expected to reach $11.5 billion this year, according to estimates from the research firm Cybersecurity Ventures. Legacy backup infrastructure, which often functions as a data insurance policy, has become a prime target for attackers that exploit common weaknesses associated with these products. Veeam Software today announces general availability for new cloud data management capabilities as part of Veeam Availability Suite 9.5 Update 4, as well as the upcoming Veeam Availability for AWS and Veeam Availability Console v3. The new major capabilities deliver cost effective data retention, easy cloud migration and data mobility, cloud-native backup and protection for Amazon Web Services (AWS), portable cloud-ready licensing, increased security and data governance, and solutions to make it easier than ever for service providers to deliver Veeam-powered services to market. 

IT leaders are increasingly concerned about cloud workloads in their multi-cloud environments; as 58 percent state that the migration of data is challenging, 82 percent are worried about application uptime and 61 percent are not confident about their cloud workload backup and recovery. DataCore Software today released two plugins enabling containerized applications and databases to access persistent storage volumes through its software-defined storage (SDS) services. Both plugins provide several options for advanced data protection and data recovery for dependable, predictable behavior at scale.

Breaking with the narrow approach of other suppliers, DataCore offers DevOps and IT operations managers a control plane of software-defined storage services spanning container hosts, virtualized machines, and bare metal servers-whether on-premises or in the cloud. Among the options available via the plugins, Continuous Data Protection (CDP) is proving especially valuable in mitigating the damage from ransomware or other data corruption issues. Cavirin Systems, Inc., the only company providing risk, cybersecurity and compliance posture for the enterprise hybrid cloud, today announced the general availability of its Winter 2019 CyberPosture Intelligence release. New capabilities include closed-loop security for Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Security Command Center (SCC) integration, Ansible auto-remediation for Linux workloads, and machine learning-based CyberPosture scoring that helps customers prioritize remediation based on risk.

Avaya Holdings Corp. and Verint Systems Inc. today announced an expansion of their partnership to introduce cloud deployments for Avaya Workforce Engagement Management, improving customer experience through operational intelligence in the contact center. Avaya‘s suite of workforce engagement capabilities can be deployed in any manner from on-premises to cloud services supporting public, private or hybrid deployment models.
