How to set up an international company in the public cloud
I blogged last week about how corporates are beginning to look at using applications in the public cloud.
Improving the Mobile Cloud Experience
Although most agree that mobile cloud computing holds a great promise for delivering cloud solutions to individuals and even critical corporate applications to employees by enabling access from anywhere, there are still several barriers that need to be addressed to elevate its usefulness and capabilities. For mobile cloud computing to reach its full potential, the following three critical challenges need to be addressed, as detailed in a recent article by Bryan Betts:

Putting the Cloud Cart Before the IT Management Horse
There’s a lot of talk these days about how cloud computing represents the next great leap forward for enterprise IT. While there is a lot of truth to that, the simple fact of the matter is that the complexity of cloud computing makes it difficult to manage, which, in turn, slows adoption.
ISE Launches the First Cloud Computing ETF
The International Securities Exchange said it launched the first ETF that tracks companies actively involved in the emerging cloud computing industry.
Citrix CEO hedges cloud bets on customer demand for web collaboration tools
At Citrix’s annual Synergy conference in May 2011, the company introduced its "personal cloud" concept to replace traditional desktop computing and cater for IT departments supporting multiple devices, delivering on-demand applications and desktops, as well as protecting corporate data.
The thin-client specialist is now making inroads into the cloud. Citrix Systems CEO Mark Templeton says the company’s personal cloud concept envisages users being able to collaborate and communicate without geographical or corporate boundaries.
Cloud computing presents new challenges for management software
The cloud is revolutionizing networking, and this overhaul presents enormous challenges for IT managers who are used to being able to see, monitor and control their networks and systems.
Network and systems management software has been heading in this general direction for years and is better positioned than you might think to take this next step – but there are several areas that require more work by the industry.

Why consumer cloud needs a PR makeover
If I were Google, Box.net or any other number of cloud-service providers, I’d consider investing in television advertising. References to cloud computing, or “the cloud,” are becoming more abundant on the small screen, but they’re not always informative, nor are they particularly flattering. And that’s in addition to the public relations hit the cloud is taking on just about every other front.
If I didn’t know any better, I might think the cloud is a fairly useless and highly insecure place to store my data. Worse, I might think it’s a joke.
