The agreement to acquire SuccessFactors, a provider of cloud-based human resources applications, was announced earlier this month. SAP expects it will close in early 2012.

In recent years, SAP hasn’t been able to settle on a cloud strategy. The application vendor’s cloud-based Business ByDesign ERP suite was pulled back in 2008 and reworked. The much-hyped offering was finally released this year. SAP claimed to have 650 Business ByDesign customers in October and projected reaching 1,000 by year’s end.

Along with the ERP services, SAP is developing a series of on-demand applications aimed at specific enterprise functions, some of which appear to significantly overlap with SuccessFactors products…

Initial findings covered Malaysia, where 64 percent of respondents said they have deployed or are actively planning cloud initiatives.

Now the companies have released survey results about Thailand. The study (now in its second year) found that 90 percent of Thai organizations surveyed believe cloud computing is relevant to their company, and 32 percent already have cloud initiatives in place – up from 21 percent a year ago.

An additional 40 percent of organizations said they are actively planning cloud initiatives – one of the highest rates amongst the eight Asia Pacific countries studied, according to VMware…

Cloud Computing is an example of human advancement in computers technology, an enormous leap in the area of technology that is simple and easily understandable to everyone, even with little or no knowledge of computers.

Most of cloud apps are either very costly, or are meant for a larger database. Simple users with simple data have to rely on more costly storage to upload their files to the cloud.

Google Apps is one the best and cheapest of the all cloud apps, and is also free – up to 1 GB of the storage for each user…

Nimbula, the Cloud Operating System Company, was named the Overall Most Innovative Cloud Provider at the UP 2011 Cloud Computing Conference yesterday.
