Bayan jumps on cloud computing services bandwagon
June 9, 2012Local telco company Bayan Telecommunications (Bayan) has officially entered the cloud computing market announcing its partnership with DataOne Asia (Philippines), an enterprise technology services firm.
Bayan’s chief-operating-officer Rafael Aguado described their company’s tie up with DataOne as another bold step by Bayan to provide its customers with effective, relevant and affordable business solutions.
"We have chosen to partner with DataOne for the roll out of our cloud services because of our shared mission to deliver to our customers and clients the best enterprise cloud services solution there is today," Aguado said…
A trending innovation in business, cloud computing provides centralized maintenance and regulation for various programs and applications needed by enterprises.
According to Aniceto "Chito" Franco III, Vice President and over-all Head of Sales at Bayan, CloudSecure will be offered both for large-scale enterprises and small to medium scale businesses.
Bayan executives said their aim is to provide companies particularly small businesses a cloud computing service with a "simple deal" and which would be ideal for short term projects.
Cyril Rocke, president and Chief Executive Officer of DataOne Asia, expressed confidence that DataOne and Bayan’s tie up will be beneficial to enterprises and SME customers.
"While some local players have actually forayed in the cloud computing as early as 2010, none of these companies has established a firm dominance of the market due to lack of a complete range of cloud offerings," Rocke claimed.
DataOne, founded in 2002 by the Keppel Group of Singapore, has been offering data center outsourcing, managed infrastructure, operations management, computing services including hosting, and managing customers’ applications, among others. It’s core business is built upon its high end Tier 3 data center located at the IBM Plaza Building in Quezon City.
