Microsoft’s revealed a plan to make Ubuntu 18.04 a "first-class" guest under Hyper-V.

Microsoft’s definition of first-class may sound a bit ho-hum for users of other desktop hypervisors, as it includes window resizing, a clipboard that goes from host to guest and back again, something Microsoft’s called a "Better mouse experience", Drive redirection and the Enhanced Session Mode that allows a guest to access host hardware. The Register’s virtualization desk has enjoyed such features for quite some time in VirtualBox and VMware’s desktop hypervisors.

The software now powers 60 public cloud data centers and thousands of private clouds at a scale of more than six million physical cores.  

When the first concepts for mobile computing were shown, there was a lot of scepticism from audiences towards the idea’s potential, especially with regards to the current active presence of desktop computers all around us. However, it’s not hard to see the potential in this solution, especially when one considers the growing attention towards smartphones and tablets on one hand, and the rapid development of the market for casual computer users on the other.
