Today Zerto announced the launch of the new Enterprise Cloud Edition with the general availability of Zerto Virtual Replication 5.0 (ZVR).  Zerto states that ZVR is the industry’s only heterogeneous data and application protection, replication and mobility solution for building and managing a hybrid cloud platform, and with the 5.0 launch, is now available with Microsoft Azure support. The new Zerto Enterprise Cloud Edition that comes with the 5.0 general availability, is designed to enable organizations to implement a hybrid cloud strategy by simultaneously protecting and recovering any virtual machine (VM) in any environment, from on-premises data centers to public clouds, all with different SLAs and retention policies using One-To-Many replication. Zerto Virtual Replication 5.0 will also be available in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace starting November 15, 2016.

"Zerto Virtual Replication recently completed a successful alpha test phase, and we’re pleased to see it a step closer to becoming generally available as cloud-based and software-defined infrastructures become more pervasive in today’s IT-enabled businesses," said Dominic Anschutz, director, Global Cloud Team, Microsoft Corp. "Across industries we see our mutual customer base embracing the shift BC/DR software is driving for these cloud environments, including Microsoft Azure, and how they’re allowing business leaders to build and execute their cloud strategies using Zerto."

Zerto claims that ZVR 5.0 delivers comprehensive, automated IT resilience for any-sized data center, with real-time one-to-many replication and recovery of VMs and data from any infrastructure to any site. With this solution, Zerto can help organizations gain recovery point objectives (RPOs) of seconds and automated recovery time objectives (RTOs) in minutes across different technologies, private clouds and hypervisors. ZVR 5.0 Enterprise Cloud Edition includes one-to-many replication support for 300 Zerto Cloud Service Providers, or one of the leading public cloud providers including Microsoft Azure, AWS, HPE Helion and IBM Cloud.

"As we continue to further implement TenCate’s cloud strategy our choice of Zerto Virtual Replication has been instrumental to achieve that objective being the only software capable of helping us to build and manage our hybrid cloud platform, while giving us heterogeneous data and application protection and mobility," said Jayme Williams, Senior Systems Engineer, TenCate. "The support for Microsoft Azure provides a noticeable difference in RTO due to the underlying technology in comparison to other public cloud platforms with each having a clear purpose. The One-to-Many feature helps us use the right target that best supports business needs, which helps us exceed SLA requirements and gives us greater flexibility in our datacenter operations."

Zerto Virtual Replication 5.0 is immediately available in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace or through one of over 1,500 Zerto Alliance Program channel partners worldwide, offering multiple business technology benefits including:

  • Replication to Microsoft Azure for building a hybrid cloud platform – ZVR 5.0 Enterprise Cloud Edition launches the fastest replication and recovery solution to Microsoft Azure with enterprise-class features for scalability. Whether managing VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V VMs, customers can achieve significant cost savings by utilizing Azure for limitless, on-demand capacity, paying only for what they use and removing the need to provision and manage expensive physical DR sites.
  • "One-to-Many" replication to increase SLA flexibility – The same software solution from Zerto can simultaneously replicate VMs within a local datacenter, for direct recovery to production, to a secondary datacenter or one of over 300 hybrid and public cloud services.
  • Extended 30-day journal capabilities reduce backup constraints and storage costs – Customers can configure different retention policies per protection group to replace multiple, short-term point solutions for data protection and retention. ZVR 5.0 can recover files, VMs and applications from any point in time on a granularity that minimizes the impact of data loss to just seconds.
  • Zerto Mobile for "anywhere, anytime" monitoring of BC/DR – IT professionals can view real-time RPOs, SLAs, alerts and journal retention policies for all VMs in a hybrid cloud from any Android or IOS mobile device without being connected to the datacenter.

"The latest release of Zerto Virtual Replication 5.0 is a channel industry game changer, particularly with the One-to-Many feature and Microsoft Azure support. It not only gives us greater opportunities to support customers, but to be more proactive in consultative sales discussions," said Jason Reid, Managing Director, AssureStor Limited. "By not only giving us another pathway into other critical discussions beyond BC/DR to help us speak more holistically on storage and infrastructure topics, we are truly capitalizing on the marketing support provided to us through the new Zerto Alliance Partner program to help build our business."

"The new Enterprise Cloud Edition of Zerto Virtual Replication 5.0 gives businesses a fast onramp to the public cloud, giving them more flexibility and control over their critical business applications and data assets," said Ziv Kedem, CEO and co-Founder, Zerto. "Zerto continues to enable the broadest ecosystem of managed, public and hybrid cloud models to give customers the most efficient way to withstand any outage and leverage the promise of cloud to fuel strong business growth."
