Zadara Storage Named a “Cool Vendor” by Gartner

Zadara Storage, Inc., provider of enterprise-class Storage as a Service (STaaS), today announced that the company has been named in the list of "Cool Vendors" in the Cool Vendors in Storage technologies, 2014 report by Gartner. Zadara Storage was one of four companies evaluated in 2014’s listing companies that provide innovative storage capabilities via new delivery methods and performance management.

With Zadara’s Enterprise STaaS, IT managers now can deploy enterprise applications using features not available elsewhere in the cloud, knowing they can access superior storage capabilities such as high IOPS, high-availability, Quality of Service (QoS), native NFS, clustering and large shared volumes, and take advantage of a pure OpEx model, without long term commitments or up-front fees. The same novel architecture is also deployed in on-premise private clouds.
Zadara’s rapid growth – the company doubled revenues in each of the quarters Q1 2014, Q4 2013, and Q3 2013, in part thanks to deployments at 10 data centers across 4 continents and counting – speaks to its meeting a strong market demand for flexible, pure OpEx, fully managed storage in public and private clouds. Zadara Storage employs a novel architecture of colocating its offerings near compute resources and connected via high speed fiber lines, enabling near-zero latency and all the cloud economics and scale without performance downsides. In addition Zadara users can obtain single-tenant performance at multitenant prices and avoid the “noisy neighbor” problem (which occurs in competing services when other customers degrade storage performance) thanks to dedicated, on-demand drives and other resources, among other patent-pending software innovations. The company also maximizes ease of provisioning and customer control. Each customer is provided a dedicated online management interface with which he or she can expand to more drives or switch from disks to SSDs by simply clicking a button. At any time Zadara users can also eliminate drives, adjust controller performance, and fine tune other storage needs on the fly – allowing agility and control in a flexible, pay-as-you-go model.
