You know what they say about cloud-based applications – the sky is the limit.

A fairly new application is on the scene and promises to raise the bar on the uses of a technology called REST APIs.

Tiggzi is a cloud-based builder for HTML5 that allows the everyday Joe Citizen to build a mobile app with ease. Currently, the mobile app development is restricted to iOS and Android mobile applications. It will soon include Windows based phones and on the Blackberry. The created app would then be able to be accessed by all of Tiggzi’s supported mobile platforms, including the option to create a webpage that is mobile browser friendly…

Exadel is the creative force behind Tiggzi. They are among the innovators of cloud-based applications. With its headquarters in San Francisco, Exadel has sprouted offices in New York, Chicago, Belarus, Russia and Ukraine.

Exadel VP, David Schoenbach sits down to give us a walkthrough on how to build a mobile application.

There is a reason why it’s been often referred to as a drag-and-drop mobile app builder; it’s that easy to build an app.

“One of the great things about Tiggzi is that there is no installation of software or use of disk space required, it’s in the cloud.” David said as he begun navigating through the Tiggzi application from his laptop.

The whole thing kicked off when he clicked on the “create an app” button. David opted to choose the visual editor. This is an excellent tool for both the tech and non-tech savvy person looking to expand access to their website or other online business.

“Here we have a choice between building a mobile app or specifically for iOS or Android. For those operating systems, we create what’s called a hybrid app that acts like a native app that can be added to App Store or the Google Market.”

Users will not have to create multiple apps for different operating systems – each app will automatically adapt to the phone’s operating system and capabilities. Cool, right? Tiggzi has its eyes on the prize – something its competitors are not all that aware of.

“We see the pool of people that are going to want to build apps is growing and growing. At the same time, we’re really focused on meeting the needs of serious professionally developers.”

For the tech- challenged folks out there, call your buddy up and you can both build different elements of the same app at the same time. Coordinate your efforts to build the next hot thing on the App Store or Google Market – while your friend might be focusing on the building of the user interface, you can stick to the fonts.

Tiggzi’s packing power when it comes to the app building interface; truth be told, if you can’t build an app on this interface – then you don’t know how to use a PC.
