Telx Launches cloudXchange
May 9, 2011Telx, an interconnection and colocation provider in North American markets, launched its new cloudXchange connectivity platform, enabling cloud service providers to offer on-demand applications and infrastructure via a distributed, hybrid delivery model.
This delivery model increases cloud services uptime, while reducing application latency, Telx said.
"Today’s Enterprise cloud user expects on-demand solutions to be as responsive and highly available as they would be if they were ‘on-premise’ services," said Justin Giardina, Chief Technology Officer of iland. "The Telx cloudXchange addresses a growing need within the cloud service provider industry to meet customer demand as the pressure increases to ensure high uptime and secure, always-on availability."
Telx said cloudXchange makes the delivery of cloud services more cost-effective to deploy because providers can "scale up" as their cloud computing offerings evolve. Providers can choose the best carrier for their needs, with the most appropriate amount of latency and can also switch carriers easily if latency or customer connectivity requirements change, Telx said.
