Survey: Most Cloud Users Want Hybrid File Sharing Solutions

Most users of online file sharing (OFS) services are extremely interested in hybrid solutions, according to a new survey from the Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG). Cloud-based file sync and share service Egnyte said those results are reflected in its own customers’ deployment preferences.

According to the study, more than two-thirds of current users of cloud-based OFS services say they are extremely interested in hybrid solutions, citing flexibility and control over data as the top factor driving interest. Egnyte’s data revealed similar results, with 7 out of 10 Egnyte customers moving to its hybrid model within the first 90 days of deployment. And more than two-thirds of all customer inquiries and pilots call for hybrid as a part of their file-sharing deployment model…

In addition, the company said more than three-fourths of Egnyte’s partners named hybrid as one of their top three solution focus areas this year…
