StorMagic, simplifying storage at the edge, announced today that its software-defined storage solution, SvSAN, is now certified with AMD EPYC 7000 processors. SvSAN lets edge and small datacenters affordably optimize their storage environments by adding data security while ensuring uptime and performance. Customers are able to consolidate compute, storage and hypervisor functions into a single server footprint, to eliminate complexity and dramatically reduce costs.

“Using the AMD EPYC processor, StorMagic SvSAN is able to provide customers a lightweight virtual SAN solution that helps remove complexity for customers and takes advantage of the power of the AMD EPYC processor core count, memory footprint and I/O capabilities,” said Raghu Nambiar, Corporate Vice President and Chief Technical Officer, Datacenter Ecosystems and Application Engineering, AMD.

Key attributes of SvSAN with AMD EPYC 7000 Processors include:

  • Compatible with any commodity x86 server and all standard memory and storage configurations
  • SvSAN with built-in Data Encryption works with AMD EPYC security features to provide enhanced security and performance
  • Customers can scale their edge compute solutions with AMD EPYC processor cores, memory and I/O

“Together, StorMagic and AMD offer customers high core density in a lightweight footprint that optimizes the overall environment at one of the lowest price points available,” said Bruce Kornfeld, CMO and general manager of the Americas, StorMagic. “Our software-based approach effectively addresses a diverse set of business dilemmas by ensuring application uptime, data security and high performance.”
