Piston Cloud Computing, Inc., the enterprise OpenStack(TM) company, today announced a technology partnership with Securisea, a leading Internet security consultancy specializing in cloud security and compliance. Focused on implementation and engineering for private cloud deployments, the partnership gives Piston Cloud customers access to Securisea’s consulting and implementation services for meeting complex information security challenges…

"We wanted to partner with a firm that not only brings proven security expertise and client service, but also understands the needs of private cloud computing environments. Securisea was a natural choice based on vertical industry expertise, depth and breadth, as well as an understanding of complex security and compliance regulations that are top of mind for enterprises today," said Joshua McKenty, founder and CEO of Piston Cloud Computing, Inc.

As part of today’s announcement, the companies will expand Piston Cloud’s CloudAudit control framework, which allows customers to quickly and seamlessly establish compliance reporting processes for private cloud installations. Custom built to address regulatory requirements, Piston Cloud’s pentOS(TM) cloud operating system represents the industry’s first implementation of CloudAudit, a cross-industry standard launched in early 2010 to automate the process of auditing cloud service providers, which has become a key security standard for OpenStack.

"We are excited to work with the team at Piston Cloud, and committed to ensuring pentOS users have the best options available to them for security and compliance in the cloud," commented Josh Daymont, founder and CEO of Securisea, Inc.

Piston Cloud designed its enterprise OpenStack distribution to be secure, beginning with installation. The pentOS CloudKey(TM) minimizes employee interaction with unsecured servers and potential tampering during configuration, and pentOS operates on a custom-built Linux distribution to minimize security exposure and optimize performance.
