Pinnacle AI announced the launch of a new solution that uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to reduce cloud costs by optimizing Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments and adopting newer technologies. The solution comes at a time when AWS customers, particularly those in the mid-market segment, are struggling with AWS cost optimization. Delivered through Pinnacle’s AI Cost Transformer product, the solution complements the company’s AWS migration services.

“What we frequently see in smaller enterprises is a tendency to get stuck with an AWS environment that’s becoming out-of-date, which invariably leads to overspending,” explained Rajeev Kamal, the Founder and CEO of Pinnacle AI. “It’s not anyone’s fault. In most cases, the businesses don’t have a full-time enterprise architecture on the team, and they may lack the personnel resources to conduct a thorough analysis of what they’ve deployed on AWS. This the problem we solve.”

Pinnacle’s AI- and ML-driven software analyzes an immense amount of data about the client’s AWS estate. It then makes recommendations for cost optimization and modernization of AWS software and services – without negatively affecting performance or reliability. “The magic here,” Rajeev added, “is to optimize for cost without compromising on availability, service levels or security. Sometimes, an AWS environment is architected a certain way for a good reason. Our solution understands that sometimes it’s good to leave this alone. However, we usually find several healthy cost-saving opportunities for our clients.”

The AWS cost optimization processes offered by Pinnacle are part of a bigger story. As cloud computing becomes the norm, and more enterprises have adopted it as a long-term IT strategy, customers are becoming more sensitive to cost. As Rejeev explained, “We’re well past the excitement stage of cloud computing. The joy of avoiding capital outlays is giving way to a sober assessment of the real, ongoing costs of the cloud. The questions people ask us include ‘What do we really need?’ and ‘What can we replace without any business tradeoffs?’ We can deliver useful answers – and follow up with action.”
