OpenLogic, Inc., provider of enterprise open source solutions for the cloud and the data center, today announced that CloudSwing can now deploy to the Rackspace Cloud and that they have entered into the Cloud Tools program with Rackspace(R) Hosting, RAX +1.39% , the world’s leading specialist in the hosting and cloud computing industry. Rackspace Cloud Tools is a showcase site for leading technologies that work with the Rackspace Cloud.

OpenLogic CloudSwing is a fully flexible Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) cloud solution offering cost-tracking and complete customization of technology stacks. CloudSwing users can also leverage OpenLogic’s support of over 600 different open source packages…

The collaboration between OpenLogic and Rackspace allows:

        —  Rackspace Cloud customers to use OpenLogic CloudSwing to create their
own customized PaaS by quickly deploying pre-configured or customized
stacks on top of their Cloud Servers.
        —  CloudSwing users to manage and monitor applications deployed in the
Rackspace Cloud from the CloudSwing Dashboard.
        —  Rackspace Cloud customers to track and monitor costs for all the
applications they deploy through CloudSwing across all of their
            Rackspace accounts.

"The Rackspace Cloud and CloudSwing are both built to handle the highly-flexible and on-demand environments that enterprises need to deploy in the cloud," said Ven Shanmugam, Senior Manager, Strategy and Corporate Development at Rackspace. "We welcome OpenLogic into our Cloud Tools community."

CloudSwing provides a complete open PaaS solution for enterprises seeking to deploy applications in the cloud. It offers an entirely customizable array of infrastructure, languages, and technology stacks, giving companies and developers the flexibility they need to choose the best platforms for all their cloud deployments. The first offering of its kind, CloudSwing is the only PaaS solution with built-in cost management tools to help enterprises understand and manage their cloud costs across multiple clouds. Based on open source technologies, CloudSwing is platform-agnostic and frees enterprises from the limitations of vendor lock-in associated with proprietary tools.

"We are excited to expand OpenLogic CloudSwing’s momentum to the Rackspace Cloud customer ecosystem," said Kim Weins, senior vice president of marketing of OpenLogic. "CloudSwing has more than tripled the number of users in the first 60 days. As enterprises look to build customized PaaS environments in the Rackspace Cloud, we anticipate this growth to continue."
