Numecent announced that it is now an approved partner of the Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) program. This program expands on Numecent’s status as a Microsoft Gold Applications Development Partner and ensures that Numecent customers and resellers will be able to leverage Numecent Cloudpaging to deliver Windows applications onto WVD on Azure seamlessly. Cloudpaging enables rapid on-boarding and migration of many Windows applications, including complicated and incompatible Windows applications, while minimizing configuration and simplifying complexity. The result is a significant reduction in migration, OpEx, and software licensing costs for WVD deployments.

“Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop delivers the best cloud-based virtualization experience for end users and IT on various operating systems, including Windows 10, Windows 7 and Windows Server,” said Scott Manchester, Group Principal Program Manager for Windows Virtual Desktop Solutions at Microsoft.

Cloudpaging also improves WVD and the use of other management tools such as non-persistence desktops and Layering technologies. For applications that may be problematic with or without these tools in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) or Desktop as a Service (DaaS), WVD with Numecent Cloudpaging can provide maximum compatibility, enabling organizations to get the most out of existing enterprise assets.

“We built Cloudpaging to make all Windows applications run better, easier to manage, and deploy friction-free to any Windows environment, including ones running in Azure such as WVD,” said Arthur Hitomi, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Numecent. “The combination of Windows Virtual Desktop and Cloudpaging mean organizations can bring all of their Windows applications to a hosted, managed desktop environment, allowing for more users and workload scenarios for WVD while modernizing and reducing costs of onboarding and backend operations.”

Cloudpaging supports programs that execute in kernel mode and/or require kernel-mode resources and requires no re-complication of applications. It also provides robust security, software asset management, and licensing enforcement for the applications it delivers, providing better compliance, reporting, and software licenses usage. Cloudpaging has minimal resource footprint and near-zero application performance impact.
