Morphlabs, the leader in converged Dynamic Infrastructure Services for the Enterprise, today announced the launch of Dynamic Resource Scaling (DRS), a technology which extends the OpEx advantages of the mCloud Data Center Unit (DCU) for true cloud bursting potential. The DRS solution allows enterprises to scale computes and storage on dedicated hardware on demand — either locally or via an Ethernet carrier exchange…

Many enterprises looking toward the benefits of public cloud-style scaling are deterred by increasingly complex compliance and regulatory requirements. Essential for sophisticated cloud bursting, Dynamic Resource Scaling elastically allocates physical resources while managing virtualized needs. By utilizing DRS with the mCloud DCU, private clouds can expand while retaining security and control — making optimized workflow a reality. And, service providers are finally able to "burst" additional workload to an external cloud on an on-demand basis, offering hosted private cloud and Dynamic Infrastructure Services to their customers at competitive pricing.

According to a recent Forrester study, "Cloud-using companies are starting to accept cloud bursting as a means to help further reduce costs for their cloud environments and increase efficiency. The dynamic combination of external cloud resources with spare capacity on-premises is a key strategy to achieve this goal." Morphlabs introduced the findings of Forrester’s Custom Technology Adoption Profile at an exclusive CIO research discussion and breakfast roundtable on the impact of cloud computing on IT procurement for the enterprise, "Cloud for the 21st Century," which the company hosted at the Clift Hotel in San Francisco, Calif. on October 19, 2011. The Forrester Custom Technology Adoption Profile commissioned by Morphlabs is now available for download at http://www.morphlabs.com/forrester-report-the-next-maturity-step-for-cloud-computing/ .

"Morphlabs has been interested in feedback from global enterprises about where they are seeing resistance to cloud adoption in enterprises today; the choice between private, public and hybrid clouds; and whether there is a market for cloud bursting services," said Winston Damarillo, founder and CEO at Morphlabs. "We believe that our Dynamic Resource Scaling technology, which enables real-time provisioning and allocation of physical resources used as part of the fundamental infrastructure of efficient cloud computing, addresses many of the issues that we have observed from these conversations."

Further using feedback received from market participants and leaders, Mr. Damarillo is now serving on a new Commission on the Leadership Opportunity in U.S. Deployment of the Cloud (CLOUD)/State and Local Government (SLG) established by the TechAmerica Foundation. The Commission’s objective is to enable state and local governments in the U.S. to better serve citizens by optimizing their use of cloud technologies and solutions.

In early 2012, Morphlabs’ cloud-bursting Dynamic Resource Scaling technology will further leverage carrier Ethernet exchanges to allow for remote access of resources around the globe. For additional information, contact Morphlabs at 310-725-0998 or info@morphlabs.com.
