Internap Receives 2011 Cloud Computing Excellence Award from Cloud Computing Magazine
February 17, 2012Internap Network Services Corporation (NASDAQ: INAP), a provider of intelligent IT Infrastructure services, announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC), a global, integrated media company, has named Internap Private Cloud a recipient of the 2011 Cloud Computing Excellence Award presented by Cloud Computing Magazine. Internap is one of only 30 award winners out of more than 200 entries to be selected for innovation and progress in advancement of the cloud.
TMC recognized Internap’s private cloud service based on its deployment with Digital Technology International (DTI), a market-leading news media software company. DTI was looking to construct a private cloud service to support its transition from an on-premise software delivery model to a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) delivery model. The cloud-based delivery model enables DTI’s news media customers to quickly and efficiently deliver premium content and advertising, as well as closely track audience data and manage circulation and billing. By delivering these services via private cloud, DTI is able to consistently improve these revenue-generating solutions to support their customers’ evolving online business models…
"Our decision to embrace a SaaS business model has given us, and our customers, a significant competitive edge in the rapidly changing news business," said Steve Nilan, vice president of marketing, DTI. "It’s gratifying to be recognized for our private cloud strategy, and work with Internap, as an award-winning deployment."
Internap’s high-performance private cloud service delivers:
- A scalable cloud solution to accommodate growth requirements;
- A secure, dedicated computing environment providing DTI and its customers with peace of mind that data is safe from hackers;
- Physical infrastructure that provides the balance of computing and storage resources so DTI can make new features available faster without the hassle of procuring and managing new hardware;
- Infrastructure redundancy that is tailored to the availability and costs required by DTI’s business model;
- Built-in capacity management and infrastructure planning; and
- A route-optimized, global network that ensures customer content and advertising is delivered over the fastest-performing Internet path – backed by a 100% uptime Service Level Agreement (SLA).
"We are honored to be recognized as a Cloud Computing Excellence Award winner, particularly since it highlights the success of one of our cloud customers, DTI," said John Freimuth, vice president of managed hosting and cloud services at Internap. "DTI is an excellent example of the unmatched infrastructure flexibility, customization and performance that our private cloud can deliver to customers – ultimately ensuring a positive experience for end users."
Internap’s private cloud service is part of Internap’s comprehensive, flexible portfolio of enterprise cloud solutions, which also includes VMware® and OpenStack-based public cloud compute and cloud storage services.
"Recognizing leaders in the advancement of cloud communications, TMC is proud to announce Internap as a recipient of the first Cloud Computing Excellence Award," said Rich Tehrani, CEO of TMC. "Internap Private Cloud has demonstrated innovation as well as the ability to improve the cloud."
