Fortanix Inc., the Runtime Encryption company, today announced that Fortanix Self-Defending Key Management Service (SDKMS) is available on VMware Cloud Marketplace. The solution is being demonstrated this week at the RSA Conference 2020 in Fortanix’s booth 4219 in the North Hall.

VMware Cloud Marketplace enables customers to discover and deploy validated, third-party solutions for VMware-based platforms – across public, private and hybrid cloud environments. Once validated, partners can easily publish their solutions for VMware customers across platforms. Customers will be able to access these third-party partner solutions directly from their cloud environments, while also being able to experience the convenience of features such as notifications, reporting and analytics.

The Fortanix solution delivers a cloud-scale pervasive data security platform that provides cryptographic services, shared secrets, and tokenization across cloud and on-premises environments from a single centralized point of management, control and audit. With this powerful new platform, businesses can reduce breach risks, develop secure applications faster, and unlock new revenue-generating opportunities from their data. Fortanix SDKMS is now available to VMware customers as an on-prem deployment, and as a Software as a Service (SaaS) offering in collaboration with Equinix through its SmartKeyTM solution. Fortanix offers easy integration with VMware’s ecosystem to provide VM-encryption services to virtualized environments. Through the Fortanix VMware Cloud Marketplace listing, VMware customers can sign up for a free trial of Fortanix SDKMS.

“We have a strong working relationship with VMware, and we are pleased to make Fortanix’s unique data security platform available for VMware customers via the VMware Cloud Marketplace,” said Faiyaz Shahpurwala, Fortanix Chief Product and Strategy Officer. “Enterprises turn to Fortanix to protect their most sensitive data in private, public and hybrid cloud environments and can now extend that protection in their VMware environments.”

“We are pleased to see Fortanix Self-Defending Key Management Service available on VMware Cloud Marketplace,” said Ramya Sarangarajan, director, Cloud Services, VMware. “Validated technologies, such as Fortanix Self-Defending Key Management Service, enable our customers to build, run and manage their applications securely, effectively and efficiently. We’re excited to work with partners such as Fortanix to empower customers to derive the most value from their technology investments.”

“The Fortanix listing on VMware Cloud Marketplace broadens the availability of the SmartKey Hardware Security Module-as-a-Service for organizations to secure their public, hybrid and multi-cloud environments,” said Lance Weaver, VP, Product Research & Incubation at Equinix. “Together Equinix and Fortanix deliver a global service that uniquely protects virtual machines, encryption keys and data across multiple cloud environments with the simplicity of a SaaS offering.”
