Dell is unveiling new and expanded cloud services to enable customers to select solutions that will help drive business results, whether they need strict security and compliance, large or small workload capabilities, real-time storage and retrieval, or quick and easy online access for configuring their cloud services.

Dell Cloud Dedicated Delivers Private Cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service

Building on the success of Dell’s public and hybrid cloud offerings, the company is now launching Dell Cloud Dedicated Services to deliver managed private cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) from a secure Dell data center. Dell Cloud Dedicated offers the rapid deployment, self-service access, scalability and metered usage benefits of cloud computing while meeting the security and compliance requirements of the most sensitive or highly regulated data.

Dell Cloud Dedicated, available now, assigns individual servers to each customer. Coupled with a variety of storage, networking, and managed service options, Dell Cloud Dedicated makes it simple for users to operate production workloads that otherwise would be limited to custom, on-premise deployment. Because there is no capital outlay required and the infrastructure is managed by Dell, organizations can quickly take advantage of private cloud computing as an extension of their data center.

Online Ordering Launching in the U.S. to Enable Easy Access for Public & Hybrid Cloud

In the coming weeks, Dell will introduce the Dell Cloud portal in the U.S. to simplify the ordering and onboarding process of Cloud Services. The portal offers instant online ordering capabilities for Dell’s cloud services so customers can meet their immediate business needs and simply scale as they grow.

Dell customers can either choose from pre-configured bundles or on-demand compute capacity. The pre-configured bundles allow customers to quickly and easily select the solution that meets their needs, whether they need it for a proof of concept, for compute or storage intensive workloads. For those who have less predictable compute capacity requirements or who need to respond to seasonal or cyclical trends, an on-demand offer can provide dynamic access to secure cloud resources as an extension of the customer’s infrastructure, using an hourly rate.

Each of the online offerings includes an industry leading Dell SecureWorks monitoring, 24/7 phone support and VMware compatibility managed through the Dell Cloud Management Console.

Global Expansion of Public & Hybrid Cloud Services

In addition to the new Dell Cloud Dedicated offering and online capabilities, Dell is also expanding global availability of its public and hybrid cloud services. In September, Dell Cloud with VMware vCloud Datacenter Services, currently available in the US and Canada, will also be available in the UK, France, Ireland, and Mexico.

Dell also recently enabled channel partners to offer Dell cloud services as part of the PartnerDirect Program in the U.S. and Canada. Channel partners can now offer the full suite of solutions and services that enable them to build, access and integrate Dell cloud services into their business.

“We continue to expand our cloud offerings and availability to help make sure that regardless of a customer’s requirements, Dell’s cloud services can meet their needs today and help them plan for the future,” said Nnamdi Orakwue, vice president for Infrastructure Cloud Services. “As part of Dell’s continuing efforts to build, operate, connect, deliver and simplify cloud solutions for customers we are making it easy for customers to access and adopt cloud solutions, and taking a big step into the private cloud space with Dell Cloud Dedicated.”

To help customers develop their Cloud strategy, Dell offers a comprehensive portfolio of Virtualization and Cloud Computing Consulting services which includes a Virtualization Readiness Assessment (VRA) offer, a Virtualization Health Check Service offer and a Cloud Readiness Assessment (CRA) offer. These services can help customers define their cloud strategy, design and implementation to achieve lower total cost of ownership and increased return on investment.
