PerspecSys Inc., the leader in cloud data protection and residency solutions for the enterprise, today announced the results of an independent technical, architectural, and compliance assessment on its Cloud Data Protection Gateway. The report highlights the ability of the solution to secure highly sensitive information of any type, using encryption or tokenization, paving the way for cloud computing to be adopted for mission-critical applications in business and government.

Coalfire, a Payment Card Industry (PCI) Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) and a FedRAMP Third Party Assessor (3PAO), recently completed the assessment, which included technical testing, architectural assessment, and compliance validation of the PerspecSys PRS Proxy Server and related components. The assessment was conducted in the company’s technical assessment laboratories using Coalfire’s industry best-practice testing methodologies and its widely respected security and IT audit standards. A summary copy of the report is available at http://www.perspecsys.com/coalfire-assessment-summary-report …

"The PerspecSys solution has impressed our technical assessment team and our auditors," said Kennet Westby, president and COO of Coalfire. "Their comprehensive offering including both tokenization and encryption capabilities can provide significant risk mitigation and data protection for users of SaaS cloud applications."

Key Findings

In addition to validating PerspecSys’ compliance with the PCI Security Standards Committee PCI DSS Tokenization Guidelines, other key findings in the report include:

— Tokenized or encrypted information was deemed to be unreadable in the tested cloud application and the protection was observed to be compliant with applicable industry security standards.

— The PerspecSys solution, when integrated into a secure business network, does not expose sensitive information.

— Using the PerspecSys solution could reduce the cost of security audits or assessments by reducing their scope.

"Coalfire’s independent report is additional validation that we achieved our goal of developing a cloud data protection solution that adheres to security and information technology best practices and standards," said David Canellos, CEO, PerspecSys. "Our solution offers support for strong encryption, including FIPS 140-2 validated modules, as well as tokenization, and is setting the standard in the market for quality, flexibility, and its ability to preserve SaaS cloud application functionality. Enterprises can be confident that PerspecSys will protect their most sensitive information, ensuring they satisfy strict data residency and industry compliance requirements while moving their applications to the cloud."
