Cloud skills now a must for every CIO

Cloud computing is becoming a game changer for many organizations, and that means the IT manager of the future needs to be well-versed in all things cloud. That is the clear message from a recent article at Tech Page One, which examined current trends in IT, and what they mean to the skills required of IT leaders.
"Transition can be a rough time for any company, no matter the reason," the article notes. "With the constant development and implementation of new technology, company IT departments are almost always in a state of transition, adapting to major changes and making sure things run smoothly. IT managers need to be ready, particularly for the big changes happening in the near future."…
So what does that mean to you? First and foremost: the cloud. The article notes that two-thirds of enterprises are implementing or plan to implement cloud computing already. As a result, demand for cloud-related skills is projected to grow by 26 percent through 2015. "With so much cloud implementation happening or about to happen, the demand for employees with expertise in cloud computing is already high and only expected to grow," the article notes. "That means IT managers will need to acquire the skills to find the best employees that will make up the 7 million cloud-related jobs by next year. While the growth is promising, IT managers will also have to prepare for less demand for in-house jobs that focus on maintenance and support."…
