Jack Woods of Silicon Angle pulled together a number of key stats every CIO should know when they are thinking about cloud computing. Let’s check out what he has to share:
- By 2015, end-user spending on cloud services could be more than $180 billion
- By the end of 2014, U.S. businesses are projected to spend more than 13 billion on cloud computing and managed hosting services
- Global spend is predicted to reach $79.1 billion by 2018
- 82% of companies reportedly saved money by moving to the cloud

60% of businesses utilize cloud for performing IT-related operations
- 80% of cloud adopters saw improvements within 6 months of moving to the cloud
- 25% of survey respondents would choose storage as the application they would move into the cloud if they could only choose one
- It is estimated that 1 exabyte of data is stored in the cloud
