Cloud Computing: OnRamp Announces Opening of Second Austin Data Center

OnRamp, a leading Data Center operations company headquartered in Austin, TX, announced today that it will open a 42,000-square-foot Data Center in Austin with an invitation-only grand opening celebration on March 20, 2014. The facility will be the company’s second Data Center in Austin and third Data Center in the US. Design of the Data Center began in the fall of 2012.
OnRamp built the facility to meet the growing demand for its services, which include high security hosting, cloud computing, high density colocation and disaster recovery services. “We are excited to open a second, enterprise-class Data Center in Austin,” said OnRamp CEO Lucas Braun. “We’re an Austin-based company, and a large percentage of our managed and cloud hosting and high security hosting services are delivered by our teams in Austin.”…
The Austin II Data Center features the highest levels of security, redundancy, reliability and infrastructure with OnRamp’s Redundant Isolated Path Power Architecture in place to deliver true 2N power to customers, from the utility to the rack. The SSAE 16, SOC I Type II, HIPAA and PCI Data Center will feature a separate high security area for HIPAA hosting. The facility was designed for industry-leading levels of high density computing, with the capability of delivering upwards of 30kW per rack, contiguously.
OnRamp worked with Square One Consultants to oversee the design, development and construction of the facility. “We are pleased to have partnered with OnRamp to build a Data Center that accommodates the range of OnRamp’s services, from high density colocation to highly secure hosting, and that provides OnRamp the flexibility to grow well into the future,” said Square One President Kevin Fleming.
In addition to OnRamp’s Austin I and Raleigh, NC Data Centers, the Austin II facility will house several on-site teams of OnRamp engineers to provide Full7Layer Support 24/7/365 for colocation, cloud computing, high security hosting and disaster recovery customers.
