Logicworks, a global leader in cloud computing and managed hosting, today announced the launch of its Managed High Availability service on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Designed for mission-critical applications, Logicworks’ new Managed High Availability service provides clients a 100% application uptime SLA with a fully monitored and managed AWS infrastructure that is highly secure, fault-tolerant, and actively tested for resiliency by the company’s top-tier team of administrators, cloud engineers, and network technicians.

"As customers across industries increasingly run mission-critical applications on top of AWS, the question of how they manage and automate the underlying infrastructure to guarantee uptime and resiliency of those applications becomes paramount," says Kenneth Ziegler, CEO of Logicworks. "Logicworks has taken the lessons-learned and industry best-practices surrounding AWS and curated them for the benefit of our clients looking to optimize and automate their AWS installation for high availability based on their specific applications and business models." …

As an AWS Advanced Partner Network Consulting Partner and Reseller, Logicworks leverages AWS advanced features, including multi-region failovers, log analysis, IAM permission management, and the full suite of Simian Army resiliency testing tools. To optimize customer costs, Logicworks also uses Amazon’s Trusted Advisor service to constantly monitor instance usage, ensuring that customers only pay for what they need, when they need it. For compliance and security, Logicworks utilizes best-of-breed web-based security tools from Alert Logic, the leading provider of Security-as-a-Service products for the cloud.

Logicworks designs and maintains infrastructure solutions on AWS to react dynamically and consistently to changing application requirements. This includes custom scripting and configuration management as well as 24×7 engineering support. Logicworks’ Managed AWS service enables Cards Against Humanity to continue selling their award winning game to millions of customers around the world, even when they raise prices on Black Friday.

"We had hosted applications on AWS before, but we knew that what we were launching was at a much larger scale, and that we needed the type of expertise which Logicworks provides," says Scott Robbin, developer for Cards Against Humanity. "They helped to ensure that our environment was secure and reliable, so that we could focus on the application layer and customers."

Applications are intentionally subjected to attacks by the Simian Army toolkit, so that the environment will be hardened to withstand underlying infrastructure failures by failing over to redundant instances automatically.
