The review, conducted by independent service auditor BDO, examined the design of BBH Solutions’ controls as a service provider to meet certain criteria for security and confidentiality principles established by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). The AICPA developed SOC 2 reports to meet the requirements of a broad range of users that need to understand internal control at a service organization as it relates to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy. With the growth of cloud computing over virtualized environments, and increasing regulatory compliance issues, the need for assurances regarding the security and confidentiality in the way a provider manages services and customer data is crucial. Organizations with a SOC 2 report can provide customers with descriptive information about the controls in place that address these issues.
