Citrix makes VDI faster, secure, more reliable and cheaper on storage with the latest XenApp and XenDesktop

XenApp and XenDesktop from Citrix now offer faster applications and greater reliability and security and claim to reduce the need for expensive SSD storage by 99% with reference architectures for Azure and a partner programme for IAAS service providers.
Citrix today announced new versions of Citrix XanApp and XenDesktop (both version7.6), the new versions which will be available in September, will have an improved user experience, improved security, instant app access, and are designed to “virtually eliminate the costs of ensuring storage performance.”…
The cornerstones of the Citrix Workspace Suite, XenApp and XenDesktop are built on the third-generation FlexCast Management Architecture (FMA), and are designed to be deployed in the cloud, on-premise and in hybrid environments. Citrix has released a new reference architecture for deploying XenApp and XenDesktop on Microsoft Azure, complete with sizing and costing data. Published and optimised in collaboration with Microsoft engineers, the reference architecture materialises the Citrix Workspace Services vision on Azure that was first unveiled at Citrix Synergy in May 2014. Additionally the Citrix Ready IaaS Cloud for XenDesktop programme has a growing list of partner service providers who have been certified as having an infrastructure that is well-suited for the deployment of XenApp/XenDesktop…
