Citrix Cloud Computing Company Acquires FrameHawk to Enhance Its Virtual Desktop Service Portfolio

It was announced by cloud computing vendor Citrix this week that it is buying the FrameHawk company to strengthen its Desktop Virtualization product portfolios. The statement does not disclose the financial terms of this acquisition but it is very clear that the FrameHawk technologies would be very useful for improving the efficiency of Citrix desktop product portfolios.

According to the statement, Citrix will use the technologies developed by the FrameHawk Company in the domain of communication, especially its light weight efficient protocol called Lightweight Framebuffer Protocol LFP would be used in combination with the cloud computing frameworks of Citrix such as – XenApp and XenDesktop…

Citrix is working aggressively to improve the virtual desktop services over the wireless networks due to the fact that many companies are adopting mobile and tablets in their businesses, but the communication over wireless and mobile networks is not smooth and efficient. Normally, on mobile networks accessing the virtual desktops will be less efficient due to intermittent glitches resulting from congestion and other issues. To overcome these issues related to communication problems, Citrix plans to implement LFP technology developed by the FrameHawk Company would be used with the Citrix HDX to improve the efficiency of DaaS product portfolios of the company…
