A post on ITBusinessEdge highlights a survey done by Cisco’s Internet Business Group, which asked 283 business users what they expected from the emergency of mobile and cloud computing.

According to the results, those surveyed were interested in storing personal and work-related content on the cloud through their mobile device, but less interested in doing so on a PC or non-smartphone. The results say that those surveyed prefer to use one device with a duel-persona capability rather than multiple devices. It also shows that in order for people to use the cloud on their mobile device, the experience will need to be seamless…

Flexibility will also be a primary driver of cloud computing on mobile devices, as mobile devices will need to become a true extension of a desktop. According to the survey results, most users said they were interested to very interested in arranging a personal computer desktop to reflect preferences similar to the device they use.

According to Jeff Vance on Datamation’s website, the mobile cloud will change how work is done, as many big name companies are rolling out mobile devices.

"The mobile cloud will change how we work in more ways than simply how we access email and how IT manages it," Vance writes. "Today, location-awareness is pretty much inherent in mobility. Location-awareness will change how sales teams prospect, how IT delivers security, how marketing and advertising firms interact with customers."
