CISA Forms Taiwan Delegation to Demo Latest Cloud Computing Achievements in Montreal, Canada

Information Service Industry Association of Chinese Taipei (CISA) today forms a Taiwan Delegation — a group of approx. 40 members with the majority coming from renowned Taiwan ICT companies and associations including telecom, R&D, software & hardware in cloud computing areas, all appearing in the 2012 WCIT Show held in Montreal, Canada. The Taiwan delegation will showcase its latest Cloud Computing technologies in the Taiwan Pavilion booth during the 3-day show, followed with a workshop presentation on Cloud Computing to report achievements and future development in Taiwan.
Kicking off with a special "CLOUD" opening ceremony and cocktail reception on Day 1 of the 2012 WCIT show, Taiwan delegates will showcase the latest cloud computing products in the Taiwan Pavilion at Montreal. Ming-Ji Wu, chief representative of the delegation, who is also Deputy Minister of Council for Economic Planning and Development, leads the delegation and to demonstrate Taiwan cloud computing achievements at the event…

The Taiwan delegation includes a team up of ICT companies and associations namely: Information Service Industry Association of Chinese Taipei (CISA) + Cloud Computing Association in Taiwan (CCAT), Chung Hwa Telcom (CHT), Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Institute of Information Industry (Taiwan Cafe Alliance), Inventec Corporation, and Syscom Group. All delegates jointly exhibit in the Taiwan Pavilion during the WCIT to showcase an array of unique cloud computing development including Enterprise Cloud Server (CAFE), New Generation Cloud Rack Solutions (Virtuoso Appliance), the Cloud Information Center Operation System (Cloud OS), Mobile Information Center, An Image of Taiwan Cloud Computing, and Integrated Cloud Service Application (Cyberhood).
The arrival of the post-PC era has come with the boom of smart mobile devices, and in particular, cloud technology is expected and seen to become a necessity for use by professionals and in social life by ICT industrialists. According to the research from a report by Institute for Information Industry (III) in August last year, the global Cloud market continues to grow and will be up to US$42B by 2014. Both markets for application and service scale in Taiwan will reach NT29.7B and NT13.3B respectively in the same year. In view of such a huge demand, the Taiwan government is also aggressively working on ICT infrastructure deployment for better metropolitan management and residential life, so as to catch up with the ideal of being "Intelligent Cities". So apart from exhibiting in the Taiwan Pavilion, the delegation will also announce these initiatives during the event.
Supported by CISA, who had been the host organization of the most successful 2000 WCIT held in Taipei, CISA has been striving to call and form a Taiwan delegation to attend the WCIT every 2 years. "The solid base of manufacturing hardware, innovation research and development capability has rapidly led Taiwan into the age of cloud computing. I can see this is a very informative international event and an opportunity to introduce Taiwan ICT development milestones to the world, along with interaction and exchange of related experiences with global professionals," said James Liu, CISA Chairman.
