Open Source Summit – The Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), which sustains and integrates open source technologies like Kubernetes and Prometheus, today announced that 30 new members joined the Foundation.

451 Research forecasts the global DevOps & microservices market is predicted to reach $10 billion by 2021, positioning cloud native technologies for rapid adoption.

"CNCF is thrilled to welcome our many new members from around the world in diverse industries, including financial leaders like Bloomberg and Morgan Stanley," said Dan Kohn, Executive Director of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation. "CNCF has now crossed over the 100 member mark in less than two years since we started, including the six largest public cloud providers. As our membership base diversifies, the ecosystem benefits from broader input, contributions and financial support to fuel more rapid adoption of cloud native computing."

It ensures application traffic is directed over the fastest routes without impacting availability or needing costly, unused backup circuits.

The Cloud Fabric mesh is constantly adapting and re-routing itself, to intelligently optimize application data flows between local offices and the corporate private cloud environment and accelerate applications delivered from the public cloud.

McAfee, one of the world’s leading cybersecurity companies, today announced new endpoint and cloud solutions that go beyond machine learning to take advantage of the speed and accuracy of advanced analytics, deep learning and artificial intelligence, and increase efficiency of security operations. At DockerCon EU in Copenhagen, IBM announced that it is expanding its relationship with Docker.  Together, IBM and Docker will be making it easier for clients to modernize their existing applications with Docker Enterprise Edition, combined with IBM Cloud, software and services.

The partnership is focused on three big takeaways:

• Docker for IBM Cloud, which will allow customers to easily bring up a Docker environment to containerize their existing workloads and run them on IBM Cloud.

• IBM’s participation in Docker’s Modernize Traditional Applications (MTA) program, so that IBM can help customers improve efficiency and agility by modernizing existing portfolios.

• Certified IBM software will be available in the Docker Store, simplifying the containerization of existing software which uses IBM middleware.
