Veritas Expands Cloud-Based Data Protection With Bolstered Capabilities for Google Cloud Customers

Veritas CloudPoint 2.0 adds enhanced data protection to Google Cloud’s native snapshot capabilities, providing joint customers with increased simplicity, improved search capabilities and enhanced protection of new workloads and applications in multi-cloud environments.

Demand for Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 Accelerates as Enterprises Move to the Cloud

Veeam Software, the Availability for the Always-On Enterprise innovator, today announced that it has experienced strong – and accelerating – demand for Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 since the product’s initial release. Over 25,000 organizations have downloaded the software, representing in aggregate more than 2.3 million Microsoft Office 365 users. From Q2 2017 to Q3 2017, sales for Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 grew 83 percent. In the most recent fiscal quarter, from Q3 2017 to Q4 2017, sales grew even faster with the release of Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 v1.5, at 327 percent, accelerating Veeam’s overall momentum – and reporting 4 consecutive quarters of growth.

RightScale 2018 State of the Cloud Report Uncovers Cloud Adoption Trends

RightScale Inc., a demonstrated leader in enterprise universal cloud management, today announced the results of the RightScale 2018 State of the Cloud Survey. In its seventh year, the RightScale State of the Cloud Survey is the largest survey of corporate cloud users, including 997 technology professionals at large and small enterprises across a broad cross-section of industries.

The survey results are available in the RightScale 2018 State of the Cloud Report, which can be downloaded at www.rightscale.com/2018-cloud-report.

"The RightScale 2018 State of the Cloud Survey showed that enterprise cloud spending will grow rapidly over the next year, and yet 35 percent of cloud spend is wasted. As a result, optimizing clouds costs is the top initiative for cloud users in 2018," said Michael Crandell, CEO of RightScale. "Multi-cloud continues to be the preferred strategy for enterprises, with companies reporting that they use nearly five different clouds on average. With this multi-cloud approach, Azure is now nipping at AWS’ heels and, in fact, is in a dead heat with AWS among enterprises that are just beginning their cloud adoption."

REAN Cloud Awarded Cloud Contract with Department of Defense with a Ceiling of $950 Million

REAN Cloud, an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Premier Partner and global cloud systems integrator, today announced that it has finalized a five-year contract with the Department of Defense (DoD) for up to $950 million to enable agencies within the DoD to procure cloud solutions and services directly from REAN Cloud in a new streamlined process. The agreement represents a groundbreaking model automating pricing and procurement so that government customers can quickly achieve full IT operations in the cloud.

REAN Cloud worked with Defense Innovation Unit Experimental (DIUx) — a DoD organization charged with accelerating commercial innovation to the U.S military — in order to facilitate prototyping and procurement of the full range of cloud adoption requirements, from Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) to application assessments, migrations, operations and more. The production Other Transaction (OT) contract is modeled on an award-winning OT prototype project for the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), DoD’s first large-scale infrastructure assessment and cloud migration successfully completed by REAN Cloud last year. This project earned USTRANSCOM honorable mention for the 2017 DoD CIO Cyber and IT Excellence Award, as the migration to highly automated and controlled cloud environments has enabled large-scale modernization.
